A Week of Repurpose

I’m going to be a week’s worth of repurposing items. Reducing the amount of waste we produce has a greater impact on our planet than most people realize. Thank you for those of you who go the extra mile to sort recycling and trash. Now, I challenge to reduce what you are throwing out and/or recycling by repurposing those items!

Monday’s Repurpose item was the Pillowcase Zippered bag:

I bought a couple of pillow shams on sale  (marked down from $29.99 to $2.50). I then began to think of all the ways I could reuse the plastic zippered bags these came in. What’s even greater about them is that they have a built in pocket for a label. If you turn the existing cardstock over, you can write the contents of the bag on it’s plain white surface.

This would make a great gift bag. You could cut a photo to the size of the slot and insert a favorite photo. Put a cute upcycled outfit inside and tie a ribbon around the masterpiece for a cute birthday gift.

Take a picture of what you are storing inside and never have to guess whether or not you are looking at trouser socks or pantyhose.

Use for corralling baby socks in your suitcase. Leave the bag in the suitcase for quick access and speedy packing.

Use it for storing scarves.

Don’t spend money on fancy diaper holders for your diaper bag; these are the PERFECT size for housing these! If something leaks in the diaper bag your diapers will stay clean and dry!

Pack some DVD’s in one to keep the kids entertained on long trips.

Store toiletries in one.

Use one as a pencil bag for the kids.

Store markers in one.

If cleaned really well, you could use as a reusable sandwich bag.

And so much more…

Tomorrow’s item: How I repurposed a jewelry holder.
