Homemade weightloss Soup
June 1, 2010 1 Comment
This is a homemade recipe (not by me) for a weight loss soup. The idea is to eat this soup – and ONLY this soup – every day of the week. One day per week, you can eat a meal of red meat — something such as steak and potatoes. If you aren’t ready to make such a big commitment, this is still a healthy and tasty alternative for families.
You will need a large stainless steel pot with lid (don’t use aluminum). You will also need a food chopper or a good knife and chopping block.
Start with:
1 Large jar of ‘Garden Combination’ Ragu
1 Large Can of beef or chicken broth
2 packages of Knorr Spring Vegetable Soup Mix
Start cooking on slow heat and add:
2 cans of french cut green beans
2 cans of diced tomatoes with herbs and/or peppers
Add the following suggested ingredients:
Buy organic if you can!
(You’ll need a food chopper or you’ll want to chop by hand…)
Small bunch of celery or about 4 large stalks
1 Red Onion
1 Medium bunch of spring onions with their stalks
1 Green Bell Pepper
1 Red Bell Pepper
2 Large Banana Peppers
1 Small bag of baby carrots
1 Small bag of baby spinach
1 Small head of cabbage
1 Tablespoon of chopped garlic
Bring the base to a boil and add all the ingredients. Stir well and put the lid on. Return to a boil and keep it stirred from the bottom frequently. Turn down low and simmer for approximately 35 minutes with the lid on. Don’t forget to stir frequently!
You can package approximately 4-6 half gallon freezer bags with one pot of soup. Freezing some will insure a quick and healthy meal for you and family. Just thaw, reheat, and enjoy!
I really wanna try this! I am going to copy the recipe down!
