Yogi

I love hot teas. They’re a much healthier alternative to drinking coffee in the mornings, but still give you that feeling of comfort. They’re great for cold nights and as a compliment to desserts. There are so many choices out there from fruit teas – black tea and teas with antioxidants.

Green tea is a powerful tea that everyone should add to their diet. Research shows that green tea has key elements in preventing cancer and heart disease. There is also a small amount of research to show that green tea may help lower cholesterol, burn fat, and slow dementia. The only problem I have with Green Tea is that it’s bitter. I don’t like the taste at all. At least not by itself. I love the Green Tea Gogi Berry by Yogi. It has a bit of a fruit flavor without the bitterness of the green tea yet still all the healthy properties. The Kava Stress Relief is my favorite. It’s such a good tasting tea and it truly gives me a warm feeling of relaxation. All you need is a good book and a little snow fall to go with it! Yogi offers over 60 flavors of teas. They feature Woman’s teas tailored to specific needs such as prenatal teas and Mother’s Milk tea as well. They offer an interactive feature with which you can select the tea of choice based on Mood, Flavor or Purpose.

About Yogi:

Our story begins in 1969 when Yogi Bhajan, an inspired and inspiring teacher of holistic living, started teaching yoga in America. He shared the wisdom and knowledge of Ayurveda and healthy living that he had mastered in India with his students while serving a specially spiced tea, which they affectionately named “Yogi Tea.” The recipe contained five traditional Ayurvedic spices: cardamom seed, cinnamon bark, clove bud, ginger root and black pepper. When blended and brewed, these delicious spices leave you feeling vibrant and alive, while boosting overall well-being. Intrigued by the complex flavor and inherent health benefits of this unique combination of spices, it wasn’t long before several of the yogi’s students were inspired to brew their own “Yogi Tea.”

Yogi’s  expertise in sensual well-being has inspired our newest offering, Yogi cereals. As with our teas, Yogi cereals are created with purpose and blended to enhance the health of mind, body and spirit, while enlivening your senses with delightful flavors.

Whether you need to jump start the day, recover from physical activity, calm your mind and clarify thoughts, or revive the spirit and reflect, there’s a Yogi tea or cereal to meet your specific needs.

The holistic teachings of Ayurveda and healthy living are the inspiration behind Yogi. These teachings continue to inform how we develop our products, and we honor and reflect them through the Yogi Principles.

Their website also features an interactive guide for selecting the type of cereal that you want based on Mood, Flavor or Purpose. I think the interactive guides are great. Our grocery stores don’t carry the full selection of Yogi teas so I was able to see several different options that I can now request to be carried.

The Yogi website  also has some Yoga poses for those who enjoy yoga or are interested in trying some basic poses. Yoga is a great way to create muscle tone and bring relaxation into your life. I personally enjoy doing it to bring focus into my otherwise OCD days.

I’m excited to say that Yogi will be sponsoring a Giveaway in the coming months, so stay tuned to WIN!

I received these products at no charge and all opinions expressed are my own.
