Cangles

I love eco-friendly jewelry. Here at home, we recycle cans that are donated to Beholdance in order to pay for surgeries through Smile Train. My husband drinks soda like they are going out of style so we accumulate a large amount of cans each week. I’m thankful that we have a great cause to put them towards, but I can imagine how the cans would pile up in the trash if we didn’t have a great way to recycle them. Green fact: 50 million cans are incenerated or dumped in a landfill each year. Cangles is contributing to making our world a greener place by turning these aluminum cans into bracelets. I was so excited to receive these fun pieces! Can you guess which cans these once were?

Their goals are three-fold: to reduce environmental pollution, to contribute financially to the above-named organizations, plus others, and to provide employment for those living in their community.

Preview some of their great designs:

LOVE this one!

You may be wondering if the edges are sharp… No, they’re not. I was pleasantly surprised!

How they give back:

We sincerely hope that what we’re making here at Cangles appeals to you.  We value your support in what we’re doing:  creating eco friendly yet exciting jewelry from recycled cans.  Michigan has been especially hard hit economically.  Therefore, when available, we buy  materials used in the production and shipment of Cangles from local businesses.  We never purchase from outside the United States. Our goal is to grow to the extent that we can employ local people who have lost their jobs.  Tuscola County has an unemployment rate of 18 percent!

Cangles, LLC currently donates a percentage of non-designated sales to Save The Earth Foundation.  Our specially-designed Save the Earth™ eco bracelets contribute an even higher percentage to their work.
The tabs removed from the cans we use to craft our eco bracelets are donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Detroit, Michigan, in memory of Nicole Emily Briggs, who was with us from
August 16, 1986 to March 12, 1990.
Our family, through Cangles LLC, also donates $1 from the sale of every bracelet made from a Vernors can to the Vassar Area Angel Food Ministry. $1 from each of our military logo cuffs is donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. Additionally, we offer for sale a special Cangles “Cure” bracelet.  For every one sold, we donate $1 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

WIN!

Cangles is kindly giving one of my readers the chance to win a $30 gift certificate to order their Cangle(s) of choice!

  20. I would love to have the pink “cure” cuff….hmmm or maybe the pepsi screw cuff…its such a hard decision. I love anything pink and supporting the Komen foundation is close to my heart – my mom died of breast cancer. But I do love my Pepsi – its my version of morning coffee. Decisions, Decisions
