Sanuk

I’ve heard of Sanuk before and know their sidewalk surfers to be quite popular. I’ve never been fortunate enough to own a pair until NOW! I was ecstatic when Sanuk offered me the chance to review the Rasta Dreamtime. These sandals are so cute! They’re easy to wear casually or can be dressed up for an eco-chic look. They are eco-friendly and recycled. Their exact composition is as follows…

  • Ultra-Soft, High Rebound Fashion EVA Footbed
  • Sustainable and Fashionable T-Strap featuring a Contrast Hand Stitch Chevron Pattern and Wood Buckle
  • Handmade 85% Flax and 15% Jute Upper
  • Recycled PET Liner
  • Recycled Tire Outsole Gathered from Around Our Factory
  • Vegan and Vegetarian
  • These beauties have been my go-to pair for the last week of campus walking. They have done great! My feet don’t hurt at all or sweat too much. They’ve been paired with jeans, skirts, shorts, and even yoga pants. All completely acceptable! I am personally very partial to the grey, but you can also get it in Natural. If you’re a 1/2 size like I am (7.5) I would recommend going up a size. I got an 8, and it fit well!  These have so much character, the pictures don’t do them justice.

My first pair EVER of Sanuk’s … woohoo!

We’ve been around since July, 1997 when Jeff Kelley started making sandals out of inner tubes and indoor-outdoor carpet. 1998 marked our first full year of operations. While we’ve progressed into semi-proper footwear company (uh-oh), Jeff’s spirit of innovation still serves as the backbone of our little brand. Today, we strive to make products that are as much about funk as they are about function. We’ve found our sandals are happiest when they tread the road less traveled – so we design ‘em accordingly. Because “Sanük” is the Thai word for FUN, our name is also our mantra.

Our goal is to provide creatively inspired yet thoughtfully designed products for the global outdoor community…mostly because we’re part of it.
Headquartered in Southern California, we are an eclectic little family hailing from Santa Cruz, Seattle, Cardiff by the Sea, the Philippines, Colombia, Hong Kong, and even Papua New Guinea. With your support, we continue to grow and now have distribution across the United States and in over 50 countries throughout Europe, Asia, South America and Australia.

Remember, eco-friendly can be fashionable, comfortable, and still affordable! You may pay a little more for the quality, but these will last you far longer than that cheap pvc sandal. Visit the Sanuk website for eco-kicks for the whole family!
