Seeing Red

I have been slow on producing reviews this week. This mama is suffering a sinus infection and it has been a nasty one. Sorry, but I refuse to be the subject of pictures when I am red, runny, and puffy. I’m sure you all can leave without the rudolph inspired pictures. 🙂

A couple of natural remedies for you all to try as the cold weather approaches:

  • Local Raw Honey
  • Chamomile Tea
  • Alfalfa (for allergies)
  • Congaplex – A Standard Process Herbal Supplement. This one unfortunately has to be prescribed by a physician (typically one that’s holistic), but will work at the onset of a cold.

I love hot teas, but if you aren’t a fan of hot teas, try squeezing a lemon into a mug of water and add one spoonful of local raw honey. Heat to desired temperature and consume. Mmmmm.

I am excited to report that our local Rite Aid is really stepping up their lines of Natural Products in the cosmetics and body care section! Target seems to have caught on too – even creating an entire laundry section designated “Natural Care.” Target had several J.R Watkins products on clearance. Bodywashes at $3.74 and several others less than $4.00. Other natural brands were on clearance as well.

If you haven’t taken advantage of it, claim your free eco lunch sack from Annie’s. For those you want to shop the J.R Watkins website, here’s a code for a Free Freedom Pack: FREEPACK10 you have to make a purchase of $9.99 or greater in order to redeem.

I’m working on a review of a great book called Ecologique. It’s s coffee table book of inspiration for designing your home in green style. It’s one of those books you’d reference and flip through over and over just to feel the creative energy. I’m super excited about it.
