If you’ve ever redecorated or renovated your home like we have been, you know that inspiration can come from a lot of places. It can also be overwhelming to decorate your forever home when it’s likely your choices are more permanent. There are so many factors to consider when you have children and/or pets! I was given a copy of Ecologique to review and the eco-friendly sophistication in this book is a far cry from my more bohemian, homemade feel. I love custom decor, but I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t jump at the chance to have at least one room that looked like it was professionally designed.  There is definitely some vintage style outdoor touches here that touched my soul. My favorite designs were Amy Smart and the Tiffani Thiessen & Brady Smith Master. I am completely envious of Amy’s garden and I am in love with the bed in Tiffani’s master! Such beautiful, elegant fabrics! The color palette is neutral and elegant – I love it!

Kelly LaPlante is one of the leading eco designers. When I think designer, I think of Kelly. She’s famous for her design at Lexus Hybrid Living Suites at Fairmont Hotels in San Francisco and Washington DC. She’s also the cofounder of jak.

écologique: the style of sustainable design is a coffee-table book featuring elegant, eco-friendly spaces designed by Kelly LaPlante. Through beautiful photographs of their stunning rooms, and the extraordinary people who reside in them, écologique illustrates that green design is not a style but rather a standard. écologique is printed on acid free paper with soy-based ink and was released in July 2008.

100% of net proceeds from écologique are being donated to Global Green USA and The Blank Theatre Company.
