Green your Halloween

Halloween is just days away! Many of you probably already have your costumes, but if you’re late in the game, I’ve got some last minute ideas and inspiration for you!

First, let’s start by looking around your home! Who wants to spend money if they don’t have to? Not I! I’ve also seen several signs around town advertising prizes for “Most Creative Costume” your handmade costume could just win you that title!

Paper bags have MANY uses! Check out this cute option from All you need is a paper bag, some poster board, and some markers!

Jack of all Trades

Other ideas for your paper bag:
  • A “litter sweep” – attach some recyclables to the bag. You could use this as an adult costume if you cut a hole in the bottom of the bag and slip it over your waist (right side up). Stick some recyclables inside the bag and glue some to the inside peeking out. Where a black outfit or maybe a black type with a recycle symbol on.
  • Cut the paper bag to create a vest for your cowboy! Put some jeans on him, a pair of cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. CUTE!
  • A robot!
  • A cellpone. Use markers or paint to draw on the keys and cellphone facing. Attach a matching toilet paper roll to the top as an antenae!
Check out these cuties in cardboard boxes:
Love this car!
If you have an orange trash bag on hand, you can create a cute pumpkin costume much like this little guy:
How about  a”Front Page Edition”?! Wear a black outfit and attach the front page of your local newspaper! Such an easy way to reuse the day’s paper!
If you’re feeling really adventurous, you can use candy wrappers! Just see what the found of Altered Nation Designs came up with:

Snickers Candy Wrappers!

Isn’t this fabulous! We’ll be having another review and feature on Altered Nation Designs coming up!

Can you guess what B is going to beeee?
