Little Green Books Review and Giveaway

Little Green Books: Review and Giveaway

B and I love Little Green Books! When I had the opportunity to review and giveaway these amazing, educational stories, I was so excited to for this! He already had the Little Panda soft book and it’s something we take with us on trips and to restaurants, etc. It’s plush and easy to toss in the wash when dirty.

To review, we received: Little Monkey, Don’t Throw that Away, I Can Save the Earth, and Easy to Be Green. All of their books can be found here and are available for less than $10 each! If you’ve got children or grandchildren, make sure you put a Little Green book on your Christmas list!

We love Little Monkey because it’s the same cloth format as Little Panda. It’s durable and easy to tote around. Not to mention, both characters are adorable. I Can Save the Earth is really cute! B loves Max. Though this book is intended for ages 4-6, it was still fun to read to him and point at the pictures. He can point back and recognize. About: Meet Max the Little Monster. He is a cute, furry green monster who is an environmental nightmare. Among other things, he leaves on all the lights, keeps his computer plugged in, blasts the TV, hoards his old toys and uses so much toilet paper it clogs the toilet until finally, his excessive ways cause a power outage. With no TV to watch, computer to play on, video games to play with, Max finds there is a whole big world outside that he can make a difference in the environment.

For older children, Easy to Be Green offers a selection of “green” activities for you and them. This is really cute and I can’t wait to try these out! Don’t Throw that Away is a Lift-the-flap-book about recycling. B understood this concept as well. Though I wouldn’t leave him alone with it (recommended for ages 4-6), it is definitely one we will read together and he can help lift the flap. For a toddler, this would be a lot of fun! There’s a surprise at every turn!

We love all the books. I would highly recommend ANY of Little Green Books’ fabulous selection for your children! There website is more than just a shop. Visit it to find helpful resources and fun activities…

On their website you can find helpful Green Tips, Little Green blog, and FREE Games for you and your children!

Parents can find these Downloadable tools for further education and fun. These would also be great for preschools, daycares, churches, and organizations!

About Little Green Books:

This new series of books will get little ones excited about going green. From recycling and replanting to creating an awareness of endangered animals and much more, Little Green Books plant the seeds for earth-friendly living at an early age. Each book in this environmentally friendly line is made from recycled materials – proving our commitment to this worthy cause.

Little Green Books is a new eco-friendly series from Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing Division. As our mission statement above explains, each book in this series will be devoted to educating children about the benefits of being green.
Little Green Books will cover a variety of subjects, teaching children about the dangers of global warming, the benefits of recycling, what they can do to help endangered animals, and much more. In I Can Save The Earth!, children can follow Max the Little Green Monster on his journey as he goes from being a litterbug to loving the earth. And in The Polar Bears’ Home, children can learn about the polar bears’ habitat and how it has become a victim of global warming. On a lighter note, The Adventures of a Plastic Bottle details the journey of a plastic bottle, from a blob of crude oil to a plastic bottle to a fleece sweatshirt! Told in diary form, this humorous tale is sure to give readers a laugh while stressing the significance of the recycling process.

In our storybooks we also include a glossary of terms so that parents and children can learn them together. So if you don’t know what “postconsumer” means or what “compost” is, don’t worry! Our books provide definitions so that your green vocabulary will grow along with your awareness. If you’re already devoted to living green, these books will be a welcome addition to your child’s library. And for those of you who aren’t totally green yet, you’ll still find these stories entertaining and educational.

What sets our books apart from other “green” books is that in addition to the themes, the manufacturing of these books is also environmentally friendly. Our books are printed on recycled materials with vegetable or soy inks. This initiative will continue as the series progresses, from storybooks to cloth books to novelty board books. A unique, innovative new series, Little Green Books plant the seeds of eco-friendly consciousness at an early age so that we can grow a generation of earth-friendly readers.

FOUR Lucky Readers will WIN all four books (a $26 value!) that I reviewed.
